Kelly Sumner, 50, of 2605 Pine Lake Drive, Greensboro, NC passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 22, 2022, in Georgia.
A memorial service will be held 12 PM Noon, August 13, 2022, at Pinecroft Baptist Church, 2022 West Vandalia Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.
Kelly was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Grant and Thelma Sumner.
He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed going to the coast (OBX) fishing with family and friends. He was a member of Pinecroft Baptist Church where he served in many different capacities. He enjoyed “over the road” driving for Averitt Express. Kelly was a family man and cherished his time at home on the weekends.
Kelly is survived by his wife Susan Sumner; his son Jacob Sumner; his sisters Judi Bray and Lori Sweeney; brothers Andy Putnam and wife Connie, Mason Sumner and wife Christina, Timothy Sumner, Jerry Sumner, and Larry Sumner; parents-in-law Charlie and Betty Gwynn; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; one great nephew; best friends Daniel and Susan Fairrington and Ronnie and Shannon Ervin; a large extended family and his fur babies Spike, Rose, and Kyzer.
