Mrs. Peggy Soyars McKinney

RUFFIN — Mrs. Peggy Soyars McKinney, 60, of 2218 Ashland Road, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Rockingham County, she was the wife for 25 years of Joseph A. McKinney, who survives, and the daughter of William Soyars and Kathleen Somers Soyars, both deceased. She lived in the Casville Community of Caswell County for the past 39 years. She was a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church and was an employee of Holt Hosiery. Survivors other than her husband of the home include two sons, Curtis Daryl Shaw and his wife, Debra, of Reidsville and Robert Keith Shaw of the home; a stepson, Joseph C. McKinney of
Kentucky; a brother, William “Billy” Soyars of Burlington; a granddaughter, Darya Goin and husband, James, of Ruffin; and best friend, Sandra McKinney of Kernersville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fletcher Soyars. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Camp Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Citty Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the residence.
