OBITUARY:
Geraldine V. (Somers) Coppolo, 79, of West Springfield passed away on Friday morning April 15, 2005 at the Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born in Greensboro, NC on January 1, 1926 a daughter of the late Paul L. and Mary (Lee) Somers and graduated from Greensboro schools.
She was employed as a waitress at Bickford's Restaurant in West Springfield for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Previously, she managed the former Richard's Drive-In in West Springfield for 10 years. Formerly, she worked as a telephone operator at the former New England T & T in Springfield. From 1944-1946, she worked as a truck driver for the U.S. Army Greensboro Overseas Replacement Depot.
She was a member of South Congregational Church in Springfield.
Geraldine leaves her sons, David L. Coppolo and his companion Elizabeth Crinella of Ludlow, Alan F. Coppolo and his wife Dreana of East Longmeadow and Timothy P. Coppolo and his wife Marilyn Billings of Amherst. Her grandchildren, Alan P. Coppolo and his wife Renee of Westfield, John R. Coppolo of East Longmeadow, Alicia M. Coppolo of Hampden, Michelle Hallett of Southampton and David Boucher of Connecticut. Her great grandchildren, P.J. and Aleigha Hallett and one expected great-granddaughter in July. Her brothers, Gary Somers and his wife Rosemary of Chicopee, Michael Somers of Springfield and Leslie Somers and his wife Janice of Easthampton. Her sister, Sandra Beaulieu and her husband Gerard of Plantation, FL. Her former husband, Pasquale Coppolo of Suffield, CT and many extended family members.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday April 18, 2005 at from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a funeral home service at 5:30 p.m. at the Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road at the corner of Wilbraham Road in Springfield. Her burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made in Geraldine's memory to the American Lung Association, 393 Maple Street, Springfield, MA 01105

WEST SUFFIELD, CT - Pasquale Edward "Pat" Coppolo, 86 of West Suffield, husband of the late Mary (Lenilko) Coppolo, died peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2013, in Hampden, MA, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 27, 1926, in Waterbury, CT, son of the late George E. and Adele (Mazeikas) Coppolo.
Pat was a graduate of Levenworth High School in Waterbury. He went on to serve our country during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served with the 15th Air Force, 456th Bomb Group H, 747th Bomb SQD, under Col. Steeds Flying Colts in Stornara, Italy. Pat was a nose gunner on the B-24 Liberator Bomber.
Upon returning from service he was married to Mary Lenilko on August 5, 1955 and together they settled in Suffield.
He worked as a self-employed Insurance Adjustor for Clark C. Collins & Co. Pat was a member of the VFW, DAV, American Legion, Springfield Kennel Club and was past treasurer of the West Suffield Men's Club. A kind, caring, and devoted father, grandfather and friend he will be greatly missed.
He leaves his children, Tanya Boushee and her husband Kevin of East Granby, CT, Patricia Coppolo of Suffield, CT, Christopher Coppolo and his wife Nancy of West Suffield, CT, Melissa Goossens and her husband Mark of Hampden, MA, Matthew Coppolo of East Granby, CT, Alan Coppolo and his wife Dreana of East Longmeadow, MA, and Timothy Coppolo and his wife Marilyn of Amherst, MA; his sister, Jane Everett of Oakville, CT, David's companion and family friend, Betty; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, David Coppolo and sister, Dolores Jurgaitis.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m., and again on Friday morning February 22, 2013, from 9 to 10 a.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home 443 East St. North (Rt. 159) Suffield. A funeral service will follow on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veteran's Memorial Program P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-030.
