George E. Pickett,93,of Winchester,passed away Friday,Oct. 8,2010 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Auburndale,FL.
He was born Feb. 3,1917 in Randolph County to the late William and Evelyn (Cox)Pickett. George was a 1935 graduate of McKinley High School and had retired from Overmyer Mould in Winchester. He was a member of the Winchester Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed fishing. George and his wife Martha spent the last 27 years wintering in Auburndale, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years,Martha (Conklin)Pickett of Winchester;a daughter,Beth Ann (husband:Bill)Hendrickson of Winchester;two grandchildren,Jodell (husband:Rob)Lawrence of Frankfort and Zane (wife:Jennifer)Hendrickson of Losantville;and three great grandchildren,Dillon Lawrence,Brice Lawrence and Elijah Hendrickson.
George was preceded in death by his parents;and a sister,Viola Thornburg.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Home,Winchester with Pastor Danny Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery,Winchester.
Friend and relatives may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services Thursday. 470, George E. Pickett
