Lauren Joy Chandler died in auto accident on September 28, 2011 at the age of 22. A native of the Anderson Community of Caswell County NC, she was the daughter of Karen Butler Chandler and Donnie Chandler.
In 2007, she graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School as a N.C. Scholar. She was President of the FTA Chapter and active in the FFA serving as an officer at the local and district levels and participating on numerous teams. She attended UNCG and graduated from Greensboro College with a degree in Elementary Education in May 2011. Lauren was a part-time employee of North Village Pharmacy of Yanceyville for several years. She was a member of Griers Presbyterian Church and a volunteer with the Women's Auxiliary of the Providence VFD. She had just started her first year as a fifth grade teacher with Person County Schools at Helena Elementary.
