Gibsonville-Anderson Boyd "Andy" Walker,81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at ARMC.
He was the husband of 35 years to Joy Payne Walker who survives and the son of the late Boyd and Viola Anderson Walker.
Andy retired from Carolina Biological after over 30 years and was a volunteer fireman with A-O Fire department for 36 years.
He was a US Army veteran and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Andy enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing in his spare time and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Payne Walker of the home; daughter, Cathie Rollins and husband, John of Jamestown; step children, Denise Loye and husband, Jerry of Burlington and Ava Dawn Bailey of Fairmont; grandchildren, Anna Rollins and John Rollins, Jr.; step grandchildren, Ashley(Matt) Bason, Brian Bailey and Matthew Bailey; step great grandchildren, Chandler Bason, Dallas Bason and Natalie Butler; special niece, Elizabeth Murray and her family J.M. and Jeremy and beloved cat "Sammie" along with several special friends.
The family request that the active and retired fireman with the A-O Fire Department serve as Honorary pallbearers for Andy's service.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dave Gilbert and the burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 pm prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3739 National drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27612 or the charity of your choice.
