Obituary Online notes for Clea Hildan SHEPHERD
GREENSBORO Clea Hildan Jacobs of Greensboro, NC, died Sunday, April 9 at Friends Home Guilford. Mrs. Jacobs was born on December 5, 1922 in Greensboro, NC, to the late Clea Wagoner Shepherd and Grady Jay Shepherd. She was raised and educated in Greensboro, and attended Lenoir Rhyne College, where she received an A.B. degree in 1944. Mrs. Jacobs was a teacher most of her life, teaching first grade and pre-school.
She was also an active member of First Lutheran Church, where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the choir, Circle and Altar Guild. After retiring, Mrs. Jacobs enjoyed and participated in Green Valley Garden Club activities and volunteered at Wesley Long Hospital.
She is survived by her sons Bill (wife Dolly) and Jonathan (wife Connie) Jacobs, and her daughter Heidi (husband Randy) Hamilton. Mrs. Jacobs was blessed with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14 at First Lutheran Church in Greensboro. The family will receive guests at 9:30 am and the service will begin at 10:30 am. The Jacobs family would like to thank the entire staff at Friends Home who assisted Hildan and her late husband Henry in their everyday welfare that was so appreciated during their time there.
