Betty Jean Burris, 84, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2023 at Richland Place.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel with Mark Shelley officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
A private burial will take place in Guilford Memorial Park at a later date.
Betty was born September 21, 1938 in Caswell County to the late Spencer and Mary Belle Simpson.
She was a member of Shannon Hills Bible Chapel for over fifty years. She worked for a while with Pilot Life Insurance Company until her children were born. Betty then served as a substitute teacher for the Guilford County School System.
She is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life for sixty-seven years, Franklin Caldwell Burris
Survivors include children, Sherri Odom and Keith Burris (wife Sherry); her grandchildren, Bradley Burris, Ashley Odom, Lindsey Odom, Hallie Burris, Heather Burris and Gracie Odom; and brother, Frank Simpson (Claire) of Atlanta, GA
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shannon Hills Bible Chapel, 900 W. Vandalia Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.
