Obituary Online notes for Don HURST Sr.
Don Hurst, 92, of 1520 Granville Street, Burlington died Friday, November 11, 2011 at 5:55 a.m. following one year of declining health.

A native of Duhring, West Virginia, he was the husband of 64 years to Peggy Simpson Hurst, who survives and the son of Fred Haven Hurst and Dolly Harmon Hurst, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Company "C", 813th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He worked for Burlington Industries for 35 years and was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include three sons, Don Hurst, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Burlington, Jim E. Hurst and wife Marie of Elon and Fred Hurst and wife Gail of Moncks Corner, SC; eight grandchildren, Jamie Hurst, Suzanne Clayton, Kristi Hurst, Ashley Bukay and husband Misha, Nolan Hurst, Lindsey Black, Laura Black and Butler Graham; and three great grandchildren, Nevaeh Hurst and her mother Amber Hurst, James Michael Hurst and Evan Clayton.

He was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Ben Bishop.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
