RALEIGH- Rev. Phillip Fred Winters, 63, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 14, 1999. Rev.
Winters was the son of the late, Nathan Winters and Lillian Bennett Winters. He was a lifetime resident of Raleigh and was retired from the Capital Area Transit with 25 years of service. He also was a Pastor at Fuller Memorial Baptist Church and Associate Pastor at Pilot Baptist Church, Raleigh.
Rev. Winters is survived by sons; Fred Jr., and Zane, both of Wake Forest, Paul Winters of Knightdale; daughters, Freida Mathis of Roaring River, Phillis Winters of Raleigh and Susan Deans of Clayton; great aunt, Jean Barbara and husband, Sher- wood of Raleigh; special friend, Faye Avent of Raleigh, 15 grandchil- dren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17th in Pilot Bap- tist Church, 1012 Blount St. and will be officiated by Rev. Karl Leonard and Rev. Preston Barham.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 Saint Mary's Street.
