Joseph Andrew "Joe" Poff, 75, formerly of the Salem Village passed away Friday evening July 13, 2007 at Friendship Manor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ethel Saunders Poff on September 4, 2000, and his son Anthony Eugene Poff on April 18, 2006.
Joe was retired from the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and the Virginia National Guard with over 30 years service with each.
Surviving are his children, Linda P. Simmons and husband Joe, Roanoke, Michael A. Poff, Salem, Jody P. Cronk and husband Paul, Roanoke, Kenny D. Poff, Roanoke, Jack L. Poff, Salem, Melanie P. Fisher and husband Chad, Roanoke; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Mildred P. Kelley, Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association 2728 Colonial Ave., Suite 2, Roanoke Va. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Frank Feather. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home,
