BETTY SUE PARRIS
~ Gaffney, SC—Betty Sue Hughey Parris, 77, of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25, 2020 at her residence.
~ Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Leroy Malcolm Parris and the daughter of the late Bonner Hughey and Alma Parris Hughey Willis and stepdaughter of the late Reverend C. E. Willis. She retired from Timken and was a member of Gateway to Life Baptist Tabernacle. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, sewing and canning.
~ Surviving are two sons, Leroy Edward Parris (Luanne) of Spartanburg and Brett Parris (Robin) of Lattimore, NC; two daughters, Tina Teasley (Ken) and Tammie Stockwell (Michael) both of Gaffney; a brother, David Hughey (Margie) of Blacksburg; a sister, Debra Adams of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Christina Buff (Lennie), Katelyn Parris, Brandon Parris, Jessica Weathers and Dustin Parris; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Echoles, Gracianna Parris, Autumn Massey, Tyler Echoles (Mikaela), Daniel Echoles, Jeremy Echoles, Adam Echoles, Sienna Weathers and Oden Weathers; a great-great grandchild, Lucas Echoles; numerous nieces and nephews.
~ Mrs. Parris was preceded in death by a son, Randy Parris, a granddaughter, Bridget McCullough, a brother, Jimmy Hughey and three sisters, Elsie Sellars, Hazel Sellars and Dana Scruggs.
~ The family would like to extend special thanks to Lamonda McDowell.
~ The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tony Clements and Dr. Larry Melton officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Social distancing and masks are requested.
~ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
~ The family will be at their respective homes.
