Chesnee, S.C. - Leroy M. Parris, 73, of 1100 Highway 11 East, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Gaffney Medical center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the loving husband of Betty Sue Hughey Parris for 56 years and the son of the late Fred Parris and Irene Williams Parris.
He was retired from Don Gantt Oil Company and had a love of gardening. Mr. Parris was a member of Gateway to Life Baptist Tabernacle.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are two sons, Leroy Edward Parris and wife, Debora L. of Cambridge, England and Brett Parris and wife, Suzan of Shelby; two daughters, Tina Teasley and husband Ken and Tammie Stockwell and husband, Michael, all of Gaffney; three brothers, Buddy Lee Parris of Rock Hill, Bobby Joe Parris and wife, Joanne of Rock Hill and Jackie Parris and wife, Elizabeth of Fl.; three sisters, Diane Corder, Nona Mae Hines and husband, Ricky and Janice Bell and husband, Larry, all of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, Christina Echoles, Jessica Parris, Brandon Parris, Katelyn Blakeley and husband, Steven and Dustin Parris; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Echoles, Daniel Echoles, Jeremy Echoles, Adam Echoles, Cassidy Echoles, Gracie Parris and Autumn Massey.
Mr. Parris was preceded in death by a son, Randy Parris; two brothers, Fred Parris Jr. and Carl Leonard Parris; a granddaughter, Bridget McCullough.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Blakely Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Melton, Rev. Tony Clements and Pastor Andy Stevens officiating.
Memorials may be made to: a charity of ones choice.
The family will be at the residence.
