Obituary Online notes for Alice Marie SULT
Alice Marie Sult Boone, 93, of Speedwell died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at New River Valley Medical Center in Radford.

Funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathan Hamman and Vicar Matt Carpenter officiating.

Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 3, 1916, in Rural Retreat, daughter of the late James Harvey & Mary A. Sutton Sult.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had been assistant post master with the Speedwell Post Office and had been office manager and bookkeeper for Vance Hardware Co. in Rural Retreat.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil C. Boone.

Survivors include her son, John D. "J.D." Boone of Speedwell; beloved special sons, Joseph R. Scarce of Axton and Gary C. Cope of Wytheville; beloved daughter, Wanda K. McFarland of Speedwell; endeared grandson, Troy F. Lovelace; two nieces, Mary Lou Foster & husband, George, and Shirley Ann Smith, all of Roanoke; a grandnephew, George Foster Jr. & wife, Frances, of Catawba; three grandnieces, Tammy Houchins & husband, Virgil, Gretchen Foster and Maggie Foster, all of Roanoke, Rhonda Croy & husband, Doug, of Salem; two great-grandnephews, Brandon Foster and Isaac Foster; a great-grandniece, Brandi Houchins; and her boys, William Mullins and Cecil Vaught.

Memorial donations may be made to the Speedwell Volunteer Fire Department. Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat was in charge of the arrangements.
