Emily Shepherd Neece was born August 15, 1836 to Jacob Shepherd and Sallie Whitesell Shepherd of the Brick Church community in Guilford County, NC.
Emily married William Riley Neece on September 25, 1857. They were married by Jeremiah Klapp, J. P. The witnesses were Gideon F Greeson and William Coble.
Emily and Riley bought a farm in the Providence Meeting community in Randolph County, NC. The 1880 census lists the family living there.
Emily is listed in the 1900 Census for Randolph County as the head of her household. She is listed as Widowed with having had 7 children, but only 6 were living.
Emily died on July 2, 1901 and is buried at Providence Friends Church in Randolph County, NC.
Her children are listed under her husband's memorial (William Riley Neece).
