In the name of God Amen I Jacob Shepherd of Guilford N. Carolina, of sound mind & memory but feeble in body, doth make & ordain this my last Will & Testament - 1st I wish all my just debts paid – 2nd it is my will that my wife have controul of every species of my property as long as she lives my Widow for the Education and maintenance of my Children –
At the death of my Wife or marriage I wish the boys to have my Tract of land and that they pay over to each of my Daughters, as much in Money as will make them equal with them in the value of the Land –
My Sons I wish to have a Horse a peice and my Daughters a Cow a peice –
As Witness my hand & Seal this 11th September 1849 –
