Junia Meteleen Wooten Apple, 98, of Asheboro, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Monday, October 26, 2015, at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, Asheboro, with Rev. Jeff Garner and Rev. Darrell Rabon officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Born in Davie County, NC on August 18, 1917, Mrs. Apple was the daughter of the late Robert Gaither Wooten and Arlesia Stroud Wooten. She worked faithfully with her husband in the ministry for over 60 years. She was a member of Sawyersville Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed quilting, reading and doing crafts.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Apple was preceded in death by her sister, Eloise W. Stephens and three brothers, Claude Wooten, Elmer Wooten and R.G. Wooten.

Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Rev. Charles E. Apple; daughter, Carolyn A. Brady and husband, Odell, of Ramseur; grandchild, Lisa Perkins and husband, Randy; of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Caleb Perkins, Eli Perkins; step grandchildren, Marie Brown and husband, Bob, Joan Cheek and husband, David, Russell Brady and wife, Sherry, all of Ramseur; and six step great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm, Monday, October 26, 2015 at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, Asheboro.

Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
