Philipp Eichler Talley, Sr. passed away December 24, 2023. A graveside service will be Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00pm at Pine Hill Cemetery and the family will greet friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington between 11:00 am and 1:00pm. Philipp Eichler Talley, Sr., 61, of Graham passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023.
Born in Augusta, GA and a native of Burlington, NC, he was the son of the late Warren Holt “Buck” Talley and Hermine Eichler Talley, who survives.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a daughter, Emilie Olivia Talley and fiancé Devin Gleis; son, Philipp Eichler Talley, Jr.; grandson, Philipp Eichler “Sonny” Talley, III; brothers, Michael Holt Talley (Dawn Talley), Thomas Benton Talley (Wendy Rumley), and Warren Erich Talley (Delise Talley); several nieces and nephews, Dana Normoyle (Glenn), Preston Abi-Nader (Lili), Alexander Talley (Tierra), and Brice Talley; and several great nieces and great nephews, Talley Normoyle, Laynie Normoyle, Milãn Abi-Nader, and Boden Talley; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his granddogs, Rubie and Finn. He was preceded in death by his granddog, Brodie.
Philipp loved the fact of being of German heritage because of his mother’s Bavarian roots. He was a 1980 graduate of Williams High School and 1983 graduate of TCA (Technical College of Alamance) with an Electrical- Mechanical Technology Degree. He was a lineman for 38 years advancing to an Instrumentation Control Technician with Duke Energy.
Philipp loved playing adult softball with the Recreation Department in Burlington in his early years. He loved to tinker with his boat and big green truck and was known for being able to fix anything. He loved the Outer Banks and the beach where he loved to deep sea fish on his boat and surf fish. He was known for having family fish fries and “eatings” that ended with Schnapps Shots. Philipp loved cooking and gardening and just being a family man.
The family will greet friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. by Pastor Ben Bishop.
