Mr. James Walter Beasley, Jr., age 74, of North Wilkesboro died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Burial with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Beasley was born in Forsyth County, December 28, 1930, to James Walter Beasley, Sr. and Mary Motsinger Beasley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro. Mr. Beasley retired from the US Army after 21 years of service.

Mr. Beasley was the chairman of the Memorial Avenue Tree Committee, Communities in Schools Lunch Buddy, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142, a volunteer at Wilkes Regional Medical Center, and a chairman of the neighborhood watch.
