SALISBURY - Libby Beck Fortune, 64, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 6, 1949, in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Louise Robertson Beck and Darland C. Beck.
A graduate of East Rowan High School, Libby was employed by Rowan County Social Services. She was a member of Community Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bernard Fortune, on Jan. 14, 2010; sister Julie K. Beck; and brother Tom Beck.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Jack Bernard Fortune III of Salisbury; daughters Carol F. Morrison and husband Anthony of Lincolnton and Cassidy Brown Fortune and friend Nick of Salisbury; sisters Martha Holshouser and husband Alton of Gold Hill, Marilyn Robertson and husband Steve of New London and Ellen Laws and husband Johnnie of Lexington; sister-in-law Pat Beck of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Joey and Nikki Fortune, who were raised in the home; four other grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials: Donor's choice
Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146. Service to follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Chris O'Gwinn officiating. Burial to follow at Brookhill Memorial Park.
