Obituary Online notes for Clarence William BILLINGS
On March 24, 2017 Clarence W. Billings, 93, went to be with his Lord by surrounded by his family and friends. Daddy suffered from congestive heart failure.
He was born in Baywood, Virginia on May 5th,1923. After being medically discharged from the Army he moved to Burlington where he met his wife, Vertie Cobb Billings. They have been married for 72 years and 11 months.
Daddy was an avid fisherman and loved the Outerbanks of North Carolina. He helped establish and build Lakeview Community Church.
He was an honorary member of Lakeview Civitan Club and a charter member of Indian Valley Golf Course. Before retiring he was a general contractor and a member of Alamance County Homebuilders Association.
Daddy loved to work in woodshop and garden. His favorite pass time was sitting in his swing waving at his neighbors as they drove by. We will miss him greatly.
He leaves behind his wife, Vertie and their two daughters and son, four grandchildren, and two precious great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Courtney and Susie Billings. His passing completes a circle as all ten of his siblings preceded him.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lakeview Community Church by Rev. Gerald Sanders with the burial to follow in Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.470, Clarence William Billings
