Obituary Online notes for “Pat” Patricia WOODARD
Patricia "Pat" Woodard Apple, 86, of Gibsonville, NC, entered into her eternal rest June 27, 2023. She had moved to George, South Africa, in March this year, after the passing of her husband on Christmas Day, 2022. She was living with her daughter and her husband and some of her grandchildren who serve as missionaries there. She passed peacefully at their home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 on August 11, 2023, at Hope River Church with Pastor Larry Pope officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 at the church. Burial will follow immediately after in the church cemetery. All are welcome to stay for refreshments afterwards.

A lifelong resident of Guilford County, Mrs. Apple retired after 34 years with Lorillard. She was a volunteer in her community and active in her church. Her Sunday School class was like family to her. In earlier years, she sang in the choir, was the youth leader, directed the ladies' group, mission's group and served on the local board. She loved to cook for the needy and she and WJ enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins. She was also very active with the voting polls. She loved people, encouraging others and she enjoyed having fun with family and friends. Her love, sacrifice and commitment to her family and friends was based in her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Pat was the daughter of the late William Woodard and Katie F. Woodard. She became the wife of WJ Apple in 1955.

She is survived by their only child, Sharan and husband, Bryant Crane, of George, South Africa. She was blessed with three grandsons and nine great grandchildren: Joshua and Brittany Crane ( South Africa) Will, Ava and Callie; Daniel and Kelsi Crane (South Africa) Emmalyn, Charlie and Henry; Zach and Nicole Crane (Florence, SC),Tyler, Amelia and Charlotte.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Walter J. Apple(Gibsonville); one brother, Connie Woodard (Julian) and one sister, Ramona Underwood, (Whitsett).

A heartfelt thank you is extended by the family to Steve Apple, Debi Pope and Cheryl Royal for their constant love and support all through the years. Your sacrificial love and help allowed Sharan and her family to continue their ministry in South Africa.

Memorials may be made to the Crane's church building fund: Crane's S. Africa, c/o ABWE, PO Box 8585, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
