Obituary Online notes for Marian Joyce RAY
Mrs. Marian Joyce Ray Greeson, 91, a resident of Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Piedmont Crossing.

She was born on December 12, 1928 in Asheville, Buncombe County, NC to Martin Long Ray and Margaret Armstrong Ray.

She was a retired teacher with the High Point City School System at Cloverdale Elementary School and Fairview Middle School and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Thomasville since 1965.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lindley Greeson, Sr. on November 20, 2013, whom she had been married to for 63 years; brother, Jesse Ray; sisters, Stella Clark, Ruth Gulledge, and Genie Carter; and grandson, Carlin Greeson.

She is survived by her four children, Joyce Shields and husband Stanley, Bob Greeson, Jr., Sheron Bender and husband Jay, and Martin Greeson and wife Heidi; grandchildren, Roger LaGuardia and wife Jaymi, Nick LaGuardia, Kelly LaGuardia Cox and husband Sean, Bob Greeson, III and wife Amber, Bryan Bender and wife Jeanne, Rebecca Bender, Katja Greeson, Mary Beth Orr, Isaac Orr, Gerri Wright, and Beth Orman; and great-grandchildren, Julie LaGuardia, Dixon Bender, Hannah Cox, and Gregory Robert Greeson.

A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Shallow Ford Christian Church Cemetery in Elon, NC with Mr. Jay Bender officiating.

No formal visitation will be held and a public memorial service will be held at a later date. Marian had a love to feed people, so the family requests memorials be directed to the Cooperative Community Ministries, Food Bank, P.O. Box 1841, Thomasville, NC 27361.
