VEST, Melba Myers, 71, of Pembroke, formerly of Roanoke, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001 in Blacksburg.
She was the wife of John C. Vest, Jr., daughter of Lulie M. Dowdy, mother of Kenneth and James Myers and Susan McDaniel, sister of Janet Hannabass, Emory, Jr. and Tommy Dowdy.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 15, 2001 at the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, with burial in the Stinson Cemetery, White Gate, Va.
VEST, Melba Myers, 71, of 132 Links Circle in Pembroke, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2001 from Montgomery Regional Hospital.
She was born in Roanoke on February 11, 1930.
She was a retired IBM Keypunch Operator at Burlington Industries.
Melba was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead and was preceded in death by a son, Danny L. Myers and her first husband, Lorenza Myers, and her father, Emory O. Dowdy, Sr.
