Anna Margaret Donovan Whittaker, 99, of Misty Hills Drive, Princeton, passed away, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Glenwood Healthcare Center, Princeton.

Born February 28, 1924, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late George C Donovan and Florence Woodyard Donovan.

Anna was a member of Stinson United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She also served 8 years as Church Treasurer. Anna retired from the City of Princeton having worked in the Building and Police Departments. She also worked as a stenographer in several different offices in Princeton and Bluefield. Anna enjoyed reading, crocheting and crafting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Harvey Whittaker, Great granddaughter, Macey Rebekah Whittaker along with a son in law Robert Johnson & two brothers, Ed & Jack Donovan.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Marcheta Ann (Jeff) Gallup of Concord, NC, Jill Lynette (Barry) Blizzard of Princeton, Carol Sue Johnson of Princeton Jeffrey Zane (Anne) Whittaker of Princeton. Seven grandchildren and their spouses. Nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Anna Donovan Whittaker, will be held at 11:00 A.M., August 29, 2023, at the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton, WV with Pastors Jim Simmons, David Lee and Gerald Roberts officiating.

Burial will follow in the Queen/Whittaker Cemetery on Halls Ridge Road Princeton.
