Allen Gooch was son of Benjamin Franklin Gooch and Franky Adline Ingle.
He had three siblings who died infant and toddler deaths and are believed to also be buried in Greenup Cemetery. It is believed all four children experienced death due to a disease that happens when two people of incompatible blood types marry.
In Allen's day, a blood test was not required before marriage. To prevent such deaths from happening a law was later passed in America preventing couples with incompatible blood types from marrying.
After Ben died from influenza, Adline married secondly James Albert Moyer whom I descend as great-granddaughter.
Allen Gooch is also recorded in the Greenup Cemetery book in the Greenup Library as Allen Cooch.
