Benjamin Frankln Gooch moved with his family from Clay, Morgan County, Indiana to Greenup, Cumberland, IL late 1868.
He married Franky Adline Ingle early 1869 and they lost an infant in 1869. This unnamed infant was buried in Greenup Cemetery.
They had two more children who died as infants and are buried in Greenup Cemetery.
On March 1, 1874 their son Allen Gooch was born in Greenup. He lived to be 13 years old and died 5 August 1887. Allen was buried in Greenup Cemetery.
Blood tests were not required before marriage in those days and it is believed Ben and Adline did not share compatible blood type, thus their babies died early.
Ben was son of Jesse Gooch and Elizabeth Ware.
