Obituary Online notes for John D. CLODFELTER Sr.
John D. Clodfelter, 83, died Friday, June 29, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Mike Goode and William Crummett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Clodfelter was born in Davidson County on July 24, 1917, to John William Clodfelter and Dora Wyre Clodfelter.

He was a lifelong resident of Davidson County.

Mr. Clodfelter served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received three Purple Hearts.

He was a hog and tobacco farmer.

Mr. Clodfelter was preceded in death by a son, Bobby John Clodfelter.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Troxler Clodfelter of the home; a daughter, Brenda Pulliam of High Point; two sons, Donald Wayne Clodfelter and John Dee Clodfelter, both of High Point; a brother, Jay Clodfelter of High Point; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
