Cheri Lea Boone was born on March 14, 1935 in Murray, Iowa to Wayne Francis Weeter and Jeannette Maude Sanders-Purdy. She passed away on October 26, 2016, at the age of 81, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.
Cheri received her GED and attended some college. She married John Andrew Boone on October 5, 1969 in Denver, Colorado. John passed away on October 5, 2016 which was also their 47th wedding anniversary.
Cheri was a small business owner, a cook and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, doing ceramics, antiquing, coloring, but most of all loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren. Cheri loved her family and friends very much. She had a big heart and was always willing to help a family member or friend in need. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Cheri was preceded in death by her husband, John Andrew Boone; her parents, Wayne Francis Weeter and Jeannette Maude Purdy; her brother, Wayne Francis Weeter, Jr. and her son, Thomas Wayne Smith.
Cheri is survived by her four daughters, along with six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; her sister; and two brothers.
The memorial service was held at the First Southern Baptist Church in Yuma, Colorado with Pastor Chris Gilmore officiating on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The inurnment will be held at the Otis Cemetery in Otis, Colorado. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service. Yuma Pioneer November 2016.
