Mr. Richard Allen Thompson, Sr., 71, of 204 Lynbrook Drive died Sunday, Oct. 15, 1995, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Westover Church and burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
A native of Guilford County, Mr. Thompson was a Charter member of Westover Church, where he served as a former Elder, Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was a faithful servant of the Lord.
He retired after 42 years employment with Carolina Steel Corporation and was currently a part-time employee of the Greensboro Auto Auction.
He is survived by his wife, Paige Troxler Thompson of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Thompson and Joseph F. Mullinax, III of Greensboro; son and daughter-in-law, Richard "Rick" and Virginia "Ginny" Thompson, Jr. of Reidsville; brothers, Carlton Thompson of Madison, Fla., Robert Thompson of Summerville, S.C. and Leland Thompson of Fletcher; sisters, Aline Harcum of Greensboro, Mary Whiteside of Goldsboro and Sarah Byrd of Charlotte; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Thompson of Reidsville, and Travis and Blake Mullinax of Greensboro.
