Charles Walter "Wayne" Weeks, 78, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 2021
He was born on August 7, 1943, in Pocahontas Va.
He joined the Air Force in 1963.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Addie Martin; parents, Claude and Madeline Weeks; stepson, Michael Mathena; as well as his granddaughter, Kori Weeks.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Maxine Weeks; sons, Kevin, Keith (Danah), and Kerry (Kim) Weeks; stepdaughter, Stephanie Taliaferro (Drew); grandchildren, Peyton Taliaferro, Faith, Kody, Trevor, Madelyn, and Kateland Weeks, Shyanne Mathena, and Jesse Smith; also left to cherish his memory are his great-grandchildren, Peter, Nolan, Asher, Kaiden, Marih, and C.J. Weeks.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. The family will receive friends one hour of the service. Charles will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Hilton Jeffries will be officiating.
