Mr. Daniel “Danny” Kaye Crowder, 68, passed away Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at his home.

He was born on September 3rd, 1946 in West Virginia to Garnett Crowder and Ellen Christine Saunders Crowder.

Mr. Crowder served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Crowder Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Bryant Crowder; one son, John L. Crowder and wife Jennifer; one daughter, Paula R. Calloway and husband Darrell; two granddaughters, Ava Crowder and Jamie Ball; three grandsons, Matthew Ball, Walter Calloway and Garnett Calloway; one step-granddaughter, Kaleigh Hawkins; three great-grandsons, Mason Jones, Konner Jones and Noah Jones; one nephew, Brian Gibson and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 27th, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in King, with Pastor Kevin Broyhill officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
