Mrs. Joyce Hill Moore, age 73, of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 after a sudden illness.
Born in Rockingham County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Roy Daniel Hill and the late Annie Tate Hill Ward and was married for 27 years to Thomas Howard “Tom” Moore II, who survives.
She was employed for many years at Alamance Community College at the campus Book Store and then moved to the Elon University Student Store before retiring and serving as a sitter for the elderly. She formerly attended Altamahaw Baptist Church and was currently a member of Faith Christian Church. Joyce was a lover of all animals and enjoyed listening to gospel and beach music.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Tom, of the home; two sisters, Rebecca White and Nancy P. Moore; sister-in-law, Doris Ward (Bob); brother-in-law, Wayne Smith; two step sons, Warren and John Moore; a special niece, Angela King (Tony); along with numerous other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Wilbert Ward; and a sister, Jean Smith.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Faith Christian Church by Rev. Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
