BURLINGTON — Mr. Wilbert W. Ward, 90, of 2964 Mansfield Road, died Friday, Feb., 12, 1999, at his home.
A native of Rockingham County, he was the husband of Mrs. Annie Tate Ward, who survives, and the son of Mr. Lester Ward and Mrs. Lucy Martin Ward, both deceased. He was retired from Copland Fabrics and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include four daughters, Mrs. Rebecca White, Mrs. Nancy Penland and Mrs. Joyce Hill Moore, all of Burlington, and Mrs. Jean Smith of Haw River; a sister, Mrs. Preston Moorefield of Reidsville; a brother, Mr. Lester Ward of Lexington; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Bessie Huskey and Ms. Pearl Lynn; and five brothers, Mr. James Ward, Mr. Roy Ward, Mr. Levi Ward, Mr. William Ward and Mr. Paul Ward.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial will be in Stoney Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.
