Jack  R. Tate 
    BURLINGTON — Mr. Jack  R. Tate , 77, of 2123 Coy Street, Burlington, NC died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Hospice Home from a long battle with cancer.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Joan Johnson Tate  who survives and the son of Alexander L. "Doke" Tate  and Dora Gwyn Tate , both deceased. He was retired from the Miller Brewing Company, Eden, NC. He was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church.
    In addition to the wife of the home, he was survived by three sons, Aaron Daniel Tate  and wife, Beverly of Rock Hill, SC, David Wayne Tate  of Pompano Beach, FL, and Joey Allan Tate  and wife, Denise of Sicklerville, NJ; four grandchildren, Allan David Tate , Michael Glen Tate , Jeffrey Allan Tate , and Joshua Oakley Tate ; two sisters, Irene P. Tate  and Rachel T. Hunter, both of Burlington; and a brother, Millard W. Tate  of Burlington.
    The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel, Burlington, Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. Walter Jones. Burial will follow the service at Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington. Other times they will be at their residence.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to the Building Fund at Altamahaw Baptist Church, 3445 Altamahaw Church St., Elon, NC 27244.
