Henry “Dinkie” Walter McGehee, Jr., 78,of Ruffin, NC, passed away on Monday August 22, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Dan River Cemetery, on Hwy 700.
Henry was born in Rockingham County on November 21, 1937 to the late Henry Walter McGehee, Sr. and Stella Ward McGehee Flynn. Henry was a crazy, funny, and humorous man who never met a stranger. He was a professional tinker and loved the outdoors and coffee. He was a great husband, dad and granddad and will be missed by all his family and friends.
Along with his parents, Henry was preceded in death by two brothers: Frankie McGehee and Melvin McGehee; and his stepfather, Luther Flynn. He attended Freedom Baptist Church.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Linda Pruitt McGehee; sons: Justin McGehee, Gary McGehee and Randy McGehee; daughters: Candace Bowman and Fondra Finney; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Flynn Rakes; one brother, Donald “Duck” McGehee.
