Sandra “Sandy” Lee Merritt Pollard, 69, passed away Thursday morning, March 9, 2017 at her home.

Sandy was born November 22, 1947, in Forsyth County, to the late Roscoe B. and Estelle McCanless Merritt. She was retired from Horizons Residential Care Center with more than 20 years of service. Sandy attended Shiloh United Methodist Church. She loved to go out to eat and enjoyed getting in the car and going for a ride.

In addition to her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her son: William Wayne Pollard.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years: William Robert Pollard, one daughter: Tammy Phipps (Mickey), five grandchildren: Joshua Cochran (Tabitha), Sabrina Cochran (Cam), Jacob Cochran (Monica), Leslie Phipps and Austin Phipps, five great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Hope and Alex Cochran, Isabella and Bentley Withers, two sisters: Dolores Tesh and Wanda Bigelow (Bill), one brother: Richard Merritt (Juanita), and a special friend Cindy Walker.

There will be a 2:00 pm funeral service held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Burroughs Chapel with Rev. Eric Tang officiating. Burial will follow at Leake Memorial Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home.
