Obituary Online notes for Edward Schmid PAYLOR Sr.
PAYLOR, Edward S. 87 of New Port Richey, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at the Newport Inn, New Port Richey.

Born in Washington, DC, on Oct. 3, 1921 he was a retired store manager for People's Drug Store in Damascus, MD and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

He had the privilege of being elected the Grand High Priest of the Royal Arch Masons of the District of Columbia in 1976 and continued to be an active member, most recently at the Pearl of the West Masonic Lodge of New Port Richey. After he retired, he moved to Florida and enjoyed working and playing at Golf Harbors Golf Club for over 20 years.

Edward was Methodist by faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell Steele Paylor and Florence G. Schmid, two sons: Edward Schmid Paylor Jr. and Robert Russell Paylor, and his brother Russell Steele Paylor Jr. Survivors include his 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Hiban (Patrick) of Clarksville, MD, Shauna Paylor, M.D. (Kurt Johnson) of Mayhill, NM, Cynthia Paylor of Silver Spring, MD, Robert R. Paylor Jr. (Kimberly) of Ft. Meyers, FL and Sabrina Dowd (Tim) of Woodbine, MD and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by sisters Florence Wood of Venice, FL and Betty Thornley of Gaithersburg, MD, and many nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be held at Arlington Cemetery on March 17, 2009.
