Obituary Online notes for Joseph Marion SHEALY Jr.
Myrtle Beach - Services for Joseph Marion Shealy, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, Garden City Beach. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Murrells Inlet is in charge.

Memorials may be made to Shepherd of the Sea Building Fund, P.O. Box 1750, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 or American Diabetes Association, 1332 Gibson Ave., Myrtle Beach, SC 29575.

Mr. Shealy died Tuesday. Born June 16, 1920 in Pomaria, he was a son of Joseph M. and Alice Epting Shealy.

Mr. Shealy attended Clemson University and was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.

He retired from Nabisco after 27 years of service.

Mr. Shealy was a loving father and enjoyed golf and ocean fishing. He was a member of Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Whitener Shealy; sons and their wives, Richard L. and Laura Shealy of Lexington, Terry and Deborah Shealy of Rock Hill; daughter and her husband, Janis and Raymond Emplit of Spartanburg; six grandchildren; brothers, Grady Shealy of Chapin, Charles Ray of Irmo; sisters, Louise Corbett, Dorothy Boyd of Columbia, Mabel Cromer, Rubye Glymph, both of Pomaria, Evelyn Doolittle of Spartanburg. © The State, Columbia, SC, 24 May 2000
