Charlie Lemuel Mitchell, Jr. 39, of Rt. 5, Burlington was found dead this morning at 5:45 o'clock at the home of a friend in Mebane.
He was a native of Alamance County, son of Mrs. Katie Boone Mitchell of Mrs. Katie Boone Mitchell of Rt. 5, Burlington, who survives, and the late Charlie L. Mitchell.
He was employed at Lucas Esso Service Station on Highway 100.
Prior to entering the service station business, he was a farmer in the Pleasant Grove Community. He was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Young Mitchell of the home; three daughters, Linda Mitchell, Evon Mitchell and Bonnie Mitchell, all of the home; one sister, Mrs. Warren Walker of Graham; and one brother, Paul Mitchell of Durham.
The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Harry F. Barnett, pastor.
The body will remain at McClure Funeral Home in Graham until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home tomorrow night from 7 to 9 o'clock.
