MEBANE -- Mrs. Edna Rebecca Young Mitchell, 71, of 205 N. 9th St., died Friday, June 16 in Duke Medical Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Mitchell, a native of Orange County, was the daughter of the late Jacob Lee and Bertie Cecil Young.
She was a retired employee of Nutri-Pack in Mebane and member of Efland United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday at Efland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Brent Laytham and the Rev. David I. McCarthy. Burial will be in the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Buster (Evon) Leach and Mrs. Kenneth (Bonnie) Knight, both of Mebane; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Spivey of Mebane; and five grandchildren;
she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Alene Young Walters and Mrs. Ruby Young Walters; three brothers, Mrs. Oscar Young, Mr. Luchen Young and Mr. Buck Young; and a granddaughter, Miss Kristy Leach.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane 7-9 PM today and other times at the home of Kenny & Bonnie Knight, 201 E. Laramie Drive. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 317 N. Graham-Hopedale Road, Burlington 27217; or to Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 3302 N. NC 119, Mebane 27302.
