Obituary Online notes for Judy Carolyn BRITT
ARCHDALE – Words simply don't carry the full weight of thoughts and emotions that one goes through during this time of parting with one that we have loved for so long. The Lord received Judy Britt Rogers on Sunday, February 27, 2011.
Judy was born in Guilford County to Stanley and Grace Britt who preceded her in death. As family and friends we feel you could not have found a more compassionate, trusting, sacrificial, giving woman than Judy. The Saints in Heaven rejoice as do those of us who realize that she is pain free and healthy for eternity. The void she leaves is vast and the pain runs deep, yet we too can rejoice in knowing she is with Her Lord, Her Savior, Jesus Christ.
During her long battle with cancer Judy showed such grace and dignity. She always acknowledged that the grace she possessed was from the Lord. While she was here on earth, God blessed Judy with a wonderful husband and caregiver, Henry Rogers who survives at the home. Judy had 3 children that truly could say they had the best mom. Michael Hill who preceded her in death gave her the joy of a grandson Jordan Hill. Kevin Crotts who blessed his mom's life so much with another grandson Hunter Crotts and a lovely daughter Kelly Hughes and her husband Randy and yet another blessing of a grandchild Landon Hughes.
Her children have always known her as a loving, giving, mother that desired the best for them and their families. She nurtured countless memories with them and her grandsons and they brought her and Henry such joy and gave them a zeal for life. Her family gave her life a purpose and even more of a reason to strive to live. They lit her heart and raised her spirits.
Judy was never alone in her battle for she was surrounded by her husband who took such good care of her as did her precious sister and best friend, Anne Britt Whitt, wife of James Aubrey Whitt of Trinity, NC and niece Kathy Whitt. Judy and Anne shared a bond and moments as only sisters can. Anne truly helped her in her daily desire to live life to the fullest and to make the most of everyday. Taking her to the doctors countless times and in healthier times, traveling and making memories for them both to carry forever. Judy is survived by brothers Darrell Britt and his wife Jeanette and son Darrell Britt Jr. "Scooter" of Chester, SC, and Dale Britt and wife Jane of Morehead City and his children Allison White and her husband Tilden of Asheville and Eric Britt of Savannah, Ga. Also surviving is her step-son Rick Rogers and his wife Donna of Ocean Isle, NC and their children, Chris and Naomi.
Her families were such encouragers during her illness with visits and phone calls and prayers as well as the numerous friends and church family that would visit, bring meals, send cards, and helped with words of encouragement.
Judy's body is laid down now and she fought the good fight. Her soul and new body united now in Heaven where she is just beginning to really live. When you reflect of your memories of Judy, remember that she wouldn't want you to be sad for her for she is now and will forever be with the One who died for us and Judy's desire would be for all who don't know Jesus Christ as their Savior to be saved and to live with her eternally.
The celebration of Judy's life will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with the Reverend Harold Shives officiating.
