Obituary for Cornelia Evelyn Oakley
Cornelia Evelyn Oakley, 89, of 2158 NC Highway119 North, Leasburg, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2024 at her residence.

Evelyn was born in Caswell County, NC on October 11, 1934, a daughter of Lewis Raymond Cobb and Mary Webster Cobb. She lived all of her life in Caswell County, NC. Evelyn was a graduate of Prospect Hill High School. She was a Homemaker and a helper on the family farm. Evelyn was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was a choir member and was very active in the W.O.M. group as well as being active in other church activities. She was also a member of Baptist Association of Disaster Relief Team.

On May 27,1954, Evelyn married Edd Hassell Oakley who survives in the home. She is also survived one daughter, Renee Scott (Wayne) of Mebane, NC, four grandchildren, Alisha Scott-Holt (Ryan), Phillip Daniels, (Tonya), Dustin Scott (Alicia), Erica LaCoe (Matt), seven great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a very special neighbor, Margaret Ann Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two daughters, Teresa Daniels and Lisa Lysan Oakley, two brothers and two sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held at Beulah Baptist Church, 1834 US Hwy 158 East, Yanceyville, NC, on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Lancaster officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Beulah Baptist Church or to the Leasburg Fire Department, 5783 NC Hwy 119 N, Leasburg, NC 27291.
