Mr. Harvey Eugene Lowe


    MEBANE — Mr. Harvey Eugene Lowe, 89, of 3003 Old Craig Trail and formerly of Friedens Church Road, Gibsonville, died Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health.
    Born in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Perry Eugene Lowe and the late Effie Cobb Lowe and was married for over 59 years to Mrs. Ruth Wilson Lowe, who survives. Mr. Lowe was a U.S. Army veteran who served in WWII and formerly worked for Lacy Smith Construction and later retired from Donald Perry Construction. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, where he served as a church councilman and was a member of the Hite Sunday School Class.
    Mr. Lowe is survived by his wife of the home; a sister, Ruby Waynick of Eastland, TX; sisterin-law, Thelma H. Lowe of Gibsonville; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Bill and Jean Tate and Ruby and Charles Tilley. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Irma Lowe; and four brothers, Frank Lowe, Clarence Lowe, Irvin "Pete" Lowe and Perry Lowe Jr.
    The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. Raymond A. Petrea. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 Tuesday afternoon prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
