Obituary Online notes for Ruth WILSON
Ruth Wilson Lowe
April 3, 1927 ~ February 1, 2021 (age 93)
Mrs. Ruth Wilson Lowe, age 93, of Mebane, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital after a very brief illness.
Born in Orange County, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Coleman Wilson and the late Nettie Mincey Wilson and was married for over 58 years to the late Harvey Eugene Lowe, who passed away in 2008. Ruth retired from Western Electric after 34 years of service. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church and its community for many years. Since moving to Mebane, she attended First Baptist Church in Mebane and enjoyed the fellowship and support she found there. Although she was never blessed to have children, she was blessed with the gift of loving children—sharing her love with many nieces and nephews and teaching in Sunday School. Ruth was a loyal friend, dedicated to her breakfast clubs for years and very involved in every community lucky enough to have her. Ruth and her husband enjoyed spending time at the beach and mountains, making friends at each location. She spent hours fishing on Emerald Isle Pier or gardening in the gentle hills of Virginia.
Mrs. Lowe is survived and was beloved by numerous nieces and nephews for her humor and especially her storytelling. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Eunice Wilkerson, Lois Harris and Beadie Wilkerson; and five brothers, Roger, Herman, Ralph, Leonard and Alton Wilson.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sammy Ballard. Interment will follow at Friedens Lutheran Church
Cemetery. Mrs. Lowe will be available for viewing from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, 6001 NC Hwy 61 N., Gibsonville, NC 27249 or First Baptist Church, 301 S. 3rd St. Mebane, NC 27302.
