Judith “Nadine” Wells Whitesell BURLINGTON — Mrs. Judith “Nadine” Wells Whitesell, 86, passed away Sept. 26, 2015 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, after one year of battling cancer.
A native of Logan County, WV, Nadine was the daughter of the late James Byron Wells and the late Millie Peters Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Day Whitesell; and her sister, Dorothy “Dottie” Wells Maner.
Survivors include one daughter, Joan “Joni” D. Whitesell, of the home, who loved her as her mother and best friend; her two cats, Tucker and Sophie; and her nieces, Tiffany Maner and Kresant Ginn.
She was a retired hair stylist and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon and Wesleyan Sunday School Class. She was a caregiver and always thought about others before herself. Everyone who knew her loved her. She loved to be outside working in the yard and loved all animals.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at 2 p.m. by Hospice Chaplain Carolyn Burrus with the family receiving friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
