Carl Keith Welch
February 3, 1937 — May 22, 2024

Carl Keith Welch, 87 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 surrounded by his family at ARMC.  

Carl was born in Guilford County to the late Roy Ambros Welch and Mintie Whitesell Welch and was married to the late Betty Hannah Welch for over 48 years.  

Carl retired at age 55 as an auditor for Defense Contract Audit Agency. He worked several part time jobs but he really enjoyed working for Jeffrey’s Paint & Paper.

He was a veteran of the US Navy and the US Air Force as a corpsman with the Medical Corps.

He was an active member of Christian Bible Fellowship and the Senior Adults Sunday School Class.  He served the church as an AWANA leader and Sunday School Teacher. Carl was actively involved for years with the Piedmont Men of Steel, The International Student Ministries and Hospice of Alamance County. He was a loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his daughters, Carla Welch Massey and husband, Jimmy of Gibsonville, Janine Welch Kreider of Darien, Georgia, and Lisa Welch Price and husband, Mark of Jacksonville, North Carolina; surrogate son, Simon Mashauri; grandchildren, Jennifer (Danny) Mattice, Sarah (Gary) Tucker, Christina (Daryl) Turlington, Kayla (Justin) Byrd, Taylor (Raymond) McKinley and Joshua Kreider; great grandchildren, Lucas Mattice, Grayson Tucker and Hadley Tucker and a sister, Jean Andrews of Graham.

 He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; sisters,  Aleene Abee, Louise Somers, Margaret Hicks and Shirley Gilliam; brothers, Winford Welch, Arthur Welch and William P. Welch.

 A service to celebrate Carl’s life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00AM at Christian Bible Fellowship by Pastor Brian Hill and Pastor Bruce Readling. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors by the US Navy.

The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45am prior to the service at the church and other times at home.
