Sara Boone Brown

JAMESTOWN, NC - Mrs. Sara Boone Brown passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Beacon Place, Hospice of Greensboro on Thursday, September 14, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Jamestown United Methodist Church. Reverend Jay Bowers & Reverend Sam Hickerson will be officiating.

Sara was the former Sara Boone of Ossipee, NC and born on November 6, 1933. She was the daughter of the late S. L. “Babe” Boone and Vernie M. Boone. Sara graduated from the A. O. High School and Watts School of Nursing in Durham, NC where she was educated and trained as a nurse. In her nursing career she demonstrated her compassionate and loving nature as the caring nurse which she was throughout her nursing career. Sara served as the occupational nurse for Oakdale Cotton Mill and cared for many during her thirty years at Presbyterian Home of High Point where she was adored by patients, families and staff.
Sara was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as caring daughter, sister and friend who always put her family and friends first in every situation. As a beautiful lady who is much loved by her family and friends, words cannot express her beautiful spirit and grace and the high esteem in which she is held.

Today, Sara has gone on to her heavenly reward. We take great joy in her joining the Angels in Heaven, but we will miss her terribly each of our remaining days.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Harris Brown, and is survived by her sons: Steve Brown (Rose) of Myrtle Beach, SC, David Brown of Winston-Salem, Mike Brown (Linda) of Liberty, Mark Brown (Michelle) of Raleigh, and daughters: Beth B Chambers (Mark) and Jami B. Adams (Mark) both of Greensboro as well as nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and brother, Jerrell L. “Pit” Boone of Burlington, Alice Ross (Dub) both of Burlington and the late Brenda Allred (Delmar) of Elon.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC, 27405 or Jamestown United Methodist Church, 403 East Main St., Jamestown, NC 27282.
