Sion Lawrence "Babe" Boone, 90, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Alamance Health Care.The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Berea Christian Church by Rev. Bland Leebrick, pastor, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Caswell County and the son of the late Peter Anderson and Myrtle Clark Boone.

Mr. Boone retired from Burlington Industries and was a Member of Berea Christian Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Sara Brown of Jamestown and daughters and sons-in-law, Alice Faye Ross and her husband, Eddie of Burlington, Brenda Allred and her husband, Delmar of Elon; son and daughter-in-law, Jerrell L. "Pit" and his wife, Betty of Burlington; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernie McIntyre Boone; parents; brothers, Ben, Carl and Clyde Boone and his grandmother, Sarah Clark.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5p.m. Sunday, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. Other times the family will be the home of Jerrell "Pit" Boone, 3055 Durham St., Ext. Burlington, N.C. 27217.
Memorials may be made to the Berea Christian Church, c / o The Cemetery Fund, 2848 Old 87 North, Elon, N.C. 27244.
