Mrs. Zelma Crumpton
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Zelma McIntyre Crumpton, 91, of 4307 Friendship-Rock Creek Road, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at Alamance Heath Care Center after six weeks of failing health, one week critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. W.O. Crumpton and the daughter of Mr. James Monroe McIntyre and Mrs. Fannie Wrenn McIntyre, both deceased. She was retired after 57 years with Burlington Industries and was a member of Berea Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Billy Mack Crumpton of the home; a sister, Mrs. Rachel M. Jones of Reidsville; a brother, Mr. Edsel McIntyre of Elon College; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Lucille Welch and Ms. Vernie Boone; and three brothers, Mr. Clarence McIntyre, Mr. Woodrow McIntyre and Mr. Ben McIntyre.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Berea Christian Church by the Rev. Bland Leebrick, pastor, and the Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will be in Bethlehem Christian Church cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
